65 year old Male with severe lumbar canal stenosis with facetal arthropathy Severe Back pain with both leg pain Difficulty in sitting and walking for > 5 min Patient tried conservative therapy such as physiotherapy, acupressure and also alternative therapy without any relief He decided to undergo surgery due to unrelenting back and leg pain Surgery- Lumbar spine L45 L5S1 fixation with discectomy We have to fix the spine due to severe disc damage and also we need remove the disc to release the pressure on nerves Now he is 1 month post surgery with complete relief from back and leg problem He can walk 30 min at a stretch without any pain Message- If we choose the surgery at right time and if patient has positive outlook towards the surgery then patient gets excellent results Spine surgery with newer advances aim to improve quality of life of patient.
